THROUGH EACH OTHER’S EYES : IRELAND AND POLAND
” This time the event linked the cultures of Ireland and Poland through art and music.
Two painters, Iwona Rossochacka-Kenny and Ewa Dzianott presented their impression of the landsacpes and the people, created in the western parts of Ireland as well as the central parts of Poland. Much discussion took place about what were the inspirations and the messages conveyed by each painting.
Iwona Rossochacka Kenny – The artist has worked all over Europe and takes part in solo and group art exhibitions. Most recently she toured Ireland and created some of her finest works during this time. There is a great tranquility and simple understanding of the nature and culture of the beautiful Irish landscape expressed in these works. Although the paintings are so expressive that they speak for themselves, Iwona was also asked to tell us personally about some of them and what inspired her in Ireland and what she felt during the creation of these wonderful creations.
We are very grateful to the Irish Ambassador to Poland, H. E. Gerard Keown for opening our exhibition and for speaking so precisely and inspiringly about this cultural event at the invitation of our Director.
There were over 20 paintings of various sizes on display in the 2 galleries called “The Residence” and “The Studio” and many of our distinguished guests asked questions and became involved in interesting debates about both the art and the musical performance which enhanced greatly the visibility and identity of all the artists. Elegant catalogues were presented to all the guests.
The opening of the art exhibition was accompanied by a concert by very young Polish musicians : Aleksandra Kalunowska (violin) i Julina Kalinowska ( piano)”.
